Modern Image Studios - Chicago - Denver

I chose to go with Modern Image Studios for both our wedding photography and videography. I made this decision after meeting with the team and noticing how all the office staff was very helpful from the time we walked in and knowledgeable on the latest trends and technology which made me feel comfortable right away since I was planning my wedding out of state. I decided to go with Joe and Bridget and they were fabulous! They were extremely helpful and creative with facilitating and taking pictures downtown Chicago, at the ceremony and reception. They absolutely went above and beyond their duties and even helped us plan out the transportation and logistics for the day since they were such seasoned professionals and knew exactly how long it would get to and from our hotel to the best photo shoot locals to the venue. Thank you Joe and Bridget! Shortly after our wedding we received a very exciting email that had a video montage of our day. This unexpected and exciting gift was so wonderful to watch and share with all of our family and friends. The video staff were extremely patient, since I may have been a little late getting ready and instead took that time to get some really great footage of my shoes and dress. They were also very energetic trying to get every shot, we can’t wait to see our wedding video and how the whole day played out and all of the amazing highlights.

We liked Modern image studios , however, the photographer on our wedding day could done better job as to take more variety of pictures and especially fun pictures. I felt like I had to tell him what to do and I didn't because I was too busy that day and thought he knows better.. big regret! However, Modern image studios are great to work with. We are still waiting on our video so cant comment on that yet.

I got the idea to use Modern Image because my sister got married and used them and her pictures turned out absolutely stunning. For my wedding, I was once again blown away!! We had two photographers at the reception and they captured everything! I highly recommend using Jeff Owen, he captured beautiful pictures that were very natural, and when we weren't sure how to pose, he gave us some great ideas! We also got a videographer and our wedding DVD will be cherished for a lifetime!! The customer service was great, even when emailing, I always got a response back right away and never felt like any of my questions were stupid. They gave us first class treatment and our wedding went off without a hitch. The pictures looked like they were right out of a bridal magazine and each picture was different from the next. I would highly recommend Modern Image to everyone!!!

I couldn't be happier with my experience using Modern Image Studios. I had Julie as my photographer and she took beautiful pictures. I definitely recommend her if you are looking for photos that have a cinematic elegance to them! I cannot tell you how many times I have been complimented on my photos. Everyone in the office at Modern Image Studios was always so helpful and accommodating. I just received my album and cannot wait to show my friends and family! The album process was so easy once I chose my images (that part was hard because I loved all of my photos) and I was pleasantly surprised when I received my album early!

I was very impressed with Modern Image Studios!! We had Jeff O. and Jason T. for our photography and Joe S. for our video. They were all very professional and they were laid back and goofy when they needed to be. They worked with us to make sure that we got the shots that we wanted and they asked us questions, didn't just didn't take charge. They all were early (bring the bride of course I was late and they were waiting for me) and they were watching the weather since we were hovering a storm. Our family and friends loved them. Once the ceremony and reception started they just blended in, you could barely tell they were there. If you wanted to have a picture with your high school friends, I looked for the bald head (sorry Jeff) and I asked him if he could take a picture and he smiled and took it. While we were taking the before pics Jeff let me look at the ones on his camera and I thought that was great!! We couldn't have asked for more and we could have gotten nicer guys!!! I appreciated the hard work they did and I would recommend them to anyone getting married!!

I had a unique experience because I had a contract with Modern Image and then they closed their location near me. The photographer and videographer still had to finish their assignments even though the company was dissolving here. The videographer seemed to take advantage of this a little. I saw him a few times sitting in a chair against the wall at our reception. When I'm paying good money and it's only 4-5 hours, I would expect him to be doing what he was hired to do. Also the manager of the location made a lot of promises that never came through once the home office took over my contract because it wasn't in writing.

Modern Image Studios is a large company with several locations across the U.S. That is exactly how their service feels. We were told that they were just opening a new location in Colorado and that they were one of the top "Knot Picks" several years in a row. We booked them for photography and videography one year before the wedding. In March, (our wedding was July 3rd, 2011) they informed us that we did not have a videographer on the books (even though we had a copy of the signed contract and had already paid the deposit). Eventually, they found a videographer to work for our wedding, but he showed up late and was more interested in fliming "fake scenes" rather than capturing the real moments unfolding at our wedding. I have not seen our video yet because they take 90 days from the date of the wedding to put it together. It might be good, but bottom line, it is not what was really happening at the wedding. The photographer did a good job of getting pictures of the guests, but also missed some CRUCIAL moments of the groom and I. She was taking pictures of our guests during the ceremony and missed him putting the ring on my finger, me reading my vows to him, his face while I was walking down the aisle, our dip in our first dance, she only got two pictures of our first kiss, and took most of the pictures from the ceremony with the top of my husband's head cut off. Also, she did not make it to our hotel in time while we were getting ready, so we have very few pictures of the prep. I really wanted a photo of my dress on this hanger that one of my bridesmaid's got me. It was a deco hanger that said Mrs. Howard at the top. I had it set up for her to get a few of the back of the dress with the hanger and then she would have to turn the dress around and take a few of the front. Instead, she was so lazy that she just flipped the hangar and started taking pictures of the front of the dress. All of the pictures of the front of my dress have a backwards hanger. It is those small details that make a huge difference on your wedding day and they were absent for mine. She was in a huge hurry to leave our reception too, even though she was about 15 min late to the hotel. Everything felt rushed, like we were a product to be sold and completed. She also would not direct anyone to pose or do anything- THIS IS HER JOB!!! There are so many awkward images because one bridesmaid or groomsman would be posing incorrectly and it made the whole photo awkard. Not to mention, I spoke with her about a shot list a few days before the wedding and told her we wanted a formal family picture with both sides of the family and she told my cousin to sit on the bench to the right of us, while everyone else was standing....IT LOOKS AWFUL! Those are the things you should not be having to worry about on your wedding day and I didn't at the time because I thought she had it handled, but after looking though the pictures, it was clear that she didn't. I would not recommend this company to anyone. If you want quality, special pictures for your wedding, book with a company that is local and is dedicated to customer service. Now, I am forced with putting together our wedding album via email from Denver to Chicago with some random girl who has worked there for a few months because they are closing their "new Denver location" and have no one here to help me in person. Please don't make the same misktake I did!!!

A friend of mine used modern image studios for her wedding. I absolutely loved her wedding album. When I began the search for a photographer/ videographer for my wedding she referred me to them. I owe her big!! They did such a great job on my wedding photos. The photographer captured the big moments and the little ones that made our special day complete. I have received numerous compliments on how creative and beautiful my photos are. The color is vivid and the lighting was perfect.Modern Image coveniently offers photography and videography. I don't understand why some brides chose not to get the videography. My wedding took months to plan but the day came and went in a second!! When it was over I wish I could relive the day just one more time. Well with the video I can relive it any time I want. My videographer caught moments I didnt even remember! The photographer and videographer from modern image studios made my wedding day UNFORGETABLE!!

Thanks P/N & MIS. We just wanted to write a quick thank you for being such an awesome photographer at our wedding. Everything went so perfect. It was great not having to worry about anything, because you were always there. Pictures and video were great. Everyone loves your work.

This was the only part of the wedding that I wish I had more time to shop for. The wedding pictures are the single most important thing because they capture all of your memories. My photographer did not make himself available by phone! I had not heard from him until the day before the wedding. I would have definitely changed photographers had I known this.

We used Modern Image for our Videography and Photography! Everything was great! Wes was the best photographer and Nick was a an awesome videographer! You would never know they were there! we can't wait for the final work!!Thanks everyone!

We used Modern Image for our videography. I am SO, SO sad and regretful that I picked them. My husband and I are both furious and are too embarassased to show our video to anyone. We paid over $2000 for our package, but we should have gone with a college film student on Craigslist who would have done a better job for cheap. Or we could have had a cousin do it for free...More than half of the video is out of focus. The first few minutes of the ceremony weren't caught because he the camera was focused on someone's back. You do not see my husband's face during the entire ceremony!!! You see our backs for about half the ceremony (really, you couldn't have walked around so you could see our faces???) The camera was stationary so there wasn't a lot of variety in shots, the most they did was zoom in and out. They didn't use a lot of the music I picked for the video, and the editing didn't make sense. The only plus I had was we all had mics so you could hear what we were saying, even though footage of all of our reception speeches were blurry. Our videographer was Dan. I don't know if it is his skill level or Modern Image's protocal as to how to film, but our video came out terrible and there is no way we can redo it. Plus their contract is airtight so they won't give you any refunds or consolations. I wish I could get them more stars, my photographer was so nice and patient with my crazy family. The pictures are amazing. I can't speak highly enough about MIS.

Used Modern Image Studios for our wedding in Denver, Oct 2010. Photographer choices were great and our photographer was EXCELLENT. However, I do not recommend buying a wedding album from them. It took way too long to complete and is not a professional looking product. You are better off making your own on shutterfly!

Great value for wedding photography. Reasonably priced with a lot of different packages to choose from. You pick your photographers that you want to work with based on their portfolios. No photo limits, all professional photographers

Jeff was the BEST photographer ever. We had so much fun with him. He was professinal and really kept things moving along. He kept the mood light and was very flexible and easy to work with. I would recommend him to ANYONE. His pictures are beautiful that he takes. Just an amazing photographer. Alan was our videographer and he did an excellent job. Everything turned out wonderful!!1 Both of these guys are very talented in what they do! I would choose them over anyone else!

Wes Craft of Modern Image Studios is awesome! He shot my wedding on 10/2/10 and did an amazing job. Not only were our photos beautiful, but he kept everyone laughing and at ease all day and night. He's a great guy!! And, really, our photos were so beautiful, I felt like crying when I saw them. Thanks, Wes!

We used Modern Image Studios out of Downers Grove, and they were very quick to respond and never let us down. We had an engagement session with our package so we were able to see how well we meshed with Matt Dinerstein before the actual wedding day.The wedding pictures are amazing thanks to Matt. We are very excited to see our photo album all put together by Modern Image and would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone in search of great wedding photography. You will not be disappointed.

I rated my actual photographer in another review, as she is no longer with this company. We hired Modern Image and worked with Rachel, who was absolutely outstanding at what she did.The interaction with the management and back end is another story.We had no issues with the booking process or the actual wedding day (again, Rachel was amazing). All the issues occurred when it came to our wedding album that was part of our package.To make a very long story short, we were charged incorrectly for upgrades to the album that were not explained. We were put on hold for the receipt of our album and did not receive any response to the emails we sent about time frame -- no response until we called, that is. We had to drive an hour to pick up our album only to be told that "oh wait, the parent albums aren't here." And we still don't have them either.I am hoping they fixed their issues because the photography work is outstanding, the pricing and packages are phenomenal and the end result album is so perfect. I would have rated a 5 all the way if it wasn't for all of the album issues we have experienced.

The entire crew at Modern Image in Lombard, IL were very helpful and they quickly responded to all my questions throughout our engagement. Jeff Owen is the BEST photographer there. We did the engagement session in the studio and we really enjoyed Jeff's upbeat personality and his creativity. All of my guests appreciated Jeff's love of photography. He truely loves his job. I would recommend Modern Image to all brides!!
