House of Fine Chocolates was perfect for us. The cake was delicious and looked great. From the start we wanted a simple, classic design and Karen did a great job creating a cake from the pictures we sent. She was very easy to work with, flexible with the tasting and timely with follow-up emails/calls. We ended up getting a chocolate cake with dark chocolate mousse and vanilla buttercream with chocolate chips. A few things to note, they don't do fondant but if you like the look of fondant they do a white chocolate ganache which gives the same clean crisp look and tastes much better. Also, rather than saving the top tier they will make you an anniversary cake. We found them through our venue but I would definitely recommend them to any bride who trusts the experts to do what they do well.

We had a cake tasting at one of the fancier bakeries in Chicago, and while the cake was delicious, we felt like they didn't really care if they got our business. We felt as if we were wasting their time and they had more important things to do. So we decided to try House of Fine Chocolates, which was right down the street from us and who we have gone to for smaller pastries and baked goods. The difference was night and day.House of FIne CHocolates was not near as fancy as the other place, but they were outstanding in their friendliness and service. When we explained that out wedding was on a Monday night, they said that they are closed on Mondays but were happy to make arrangements to make sure we got our cake. it turns out that the owner himself came in on his day off to give us our cake (we picked it up ourselves to avoid the delivery fee - their suggestion since we got a smaller cake) They were always courteous and professional with the perfect hint of humor that made them delightful. We also liked that we were supporting a neighborhood family business. But the important thing is how was the cake? it was not only beautiful but absolutely delicious! We had a special request of adding fresh to the cake, which they normally don't do, but they made it work for us and the result was out of this world! Here is the ultimate kicker though, for a cake that tasted just as good as the fancy place, we paid half the price! house of Fine Chocolates is the place to go!

House of Fine Chocolates was our reception venues (Omni Hotel Chicago) choice of cake. LOVED everything about my cake and they were flexible in fillings and what not. House of Fine Chocolates also sends you a replica of the top of the cake so you don't have freeze and eat on 1 year anniversary. Can't wait to go back and try more cookies and pastries.

This was the bakery included in our reception site contract. We however, needed a vegan layer of the cake because of an allergy. The bakery was unable to do this, though they tried a couple of recipes that we sent them. Overall, our cake was wonderful, but we had to bring in a layer of cake from another bakery.

This bakery has tons of unique options for flavors and filling that are all delicious. I brought in a couple of pictures that were a general idea of what I had in mind but hadn't been able to find anything that I loved so I was very impressed that they were able to design a cake that I thought was beautiful and exactly what I had in mind even though I wasn't able to describe it very well! My only complaint was that I dropped off my cake topper and they lost it. I can't speak for the price because this was included in my reception cost but the cake was beautiful and delicious!

House of Fine Chocolates was very friendly and accomodating when I was ordering our wedding cake. The cake was delicious, and they give you a free one year anniversary cake for purchasing your wedding cake from them.

The cake was included in the hotel wedding packet. We called the House for a tasting appointment to choose the cake. I had a drawing of how I wanted our cake to be decorated. Turned out, the House had recently posted a new cake just as I had envisioned it. I also asked to have syrup to be added in the cake, they had no problems in doing this. A year later, I called and with ease, we order our anniversary cake, and it was exactly and tasteful as the wedding cake!
