Deer Path Inn

I'm very glad that I threw my wedding and reception at the Deer Path Inn. The atmosphere was elegant but comfortable. The food was outstanding! Mary Ellen, who did the Inn's event coordinating, was very responsive and detail oriented. All of my out of town guests were happy with their accommodations and enjoyed strolling around downtown Lake Forest. I would recommend them without reservation.

The Deer Path Inn and ALL it's staff made my wedding day ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Food was fantastic. Service was outstanding. Atmosphere was cozy, comfortable and homey.....we will definitely return every year and through out the year! I can't remember everyone names by Joanne Stewart and Mary Ellen were tremendous! Our bartender was like one of the family the way he treated all the guests. I just can't say enough..............I definitely recommend this place to anyone for any occasion. We reserved the combination of the English Room and the Hearth Room, which turned out to be perfect. Both rooms have an exceptional ambiance for a wedding. Reserve early, because the rooms are in great demand. There were 80 guests at our wedding, which is the ideal size for the English Room dinner. The reception took place on the porch and in the garden, which is extraordinarily beautiful. We had numerous guests stay at the Deerpath for this occasion; and they were all quite pleased with the rooms.

The Deer Path Inn did an outstanding job with the planning and execution of our wedding ceremony in the garden and reception afterwards (cocktails in the garden, followed by dinner in the English Room). Not only were we (the bride and groom) delighted, but we received many comments from the guests about how PERFECT it was. The venue was lovely, everything was handled superbly, and the food was delicious! I, along with many of my friends, am a foodie, and some of them are even more particular than I am. Each course came out perfectly cooked, our guests even raved about the warm, great tasting bread. Would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

The the very professional, knowledgable and friendly staff of the Deer Path Inn understood the type of wedding ceremony and celebration we wanted and did an outstanding job assisting us to turn our hopes into reality. The beautiful holiday atsmophere of the Inn offered the perfect setting for our December wedding! Our heartfelt thanks to all!

The Deerpath Inn provided the most perfect, magical wedding weekend that any bride could ask for. There was no detail left unattended to.....from the quality of the food..... to the outstanding staff.....to its old world charm. I look forward to hosting other events with them in the future.

This was a WONDERFUL venue which was both charming and beautiful, The service was excellent, and the planner the event was organized, gracious, and accommodating. The food was fabulous and transitions during the event felt natural and seamless. I would recommend this venue to anyone planning a wedding or other special event.

The staff at Deer Path Inn is truly amazing. They are so on top of things and the catering manager, Mary Ellen, is super quick at responding to all the millions of questions that come up. She provides you with constant updates as you make a ton of changes while planning (inevitable!), which really helps you keep track of everything going on. She also does her best to accommodate you on everything she can. On the day of, the entire staff is so professional and helpful. The day-of coordinator, JoAnn, is on top of everything. Even my wedding planner commented on how easy everyone at Deer Path Inn was to work with. The food for both cocktail hour and the reception was great as well. Although we didn't get to actually taste the sushi and sashimi that was displayed during cocktail hour, it was a huge hit with our guests. The sushi chef is actually Japanese, which makes a huge difference. Everything went smoothly and we couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out. If you're looking for a wedding in a charming, historic venue with a fantastic staff, then Deer Path Inn is the way to go! The cost is pretty high for a venue in the suburbs, but it's all worth it and depending on what you decide to include and not include, you can work with your budget. We highly recommend Deer Path and its wonderful staff!

A hidden gem - beautiful hotel, beautiful surroundings - I only wish we had heard about the Deer Path Inn before wasting weeks looking at dozens of boring, run-of-the-mill hotel ballrooms. The English Room, Hearth Room, and garden are gorgeous settings for a wedding reception and ceremony. Mary Ellen was professional, easy to work with, and always responded promptly to emails or voicemails. Joann, the day-of coordinator, was fantastic - everything went smoothly. The guests keep commenting about how delicious the meal was, the service was great, and the room was set up exactly as we had discussed. All in all, a wonderful experience. Highly recommended!!

The Deer Path Inn is the perfect choice for those who want a high quality experience. Mary Ellen was great to work with during the planning process and Jo Ann was excellent as our "day of" wedding day coordinator. The white glove service, the incredible food and the beautiful atmosphere made this the perfect choice for our wedding ceremony and reception. We would return to the Deer Path Inn for other family celebrations.

The Deer Path Inn has exceeded every expectation we had for our wedding. Our wedding was a small one on July 10, 2010 and we had both the ceremony and the reception there. It could not have gone any more smoothly or been more perfect and beautiful. The garden was the perfect spot for a small ceremony and the English room comfortably fit our 80 guests. Mary Ellen was very responsive leading up to the event, which was great because of all the little question that came up. She was also very caring and attention oriented during the event, always making sure everything was how it was supposed to be and that we didn't need anything. At the rehearsal, they allowed us to bring all of the favors and place cards and they set those up for us the day of. They really took all of the worry out of the day and made it run so smoothly! Lastly, I cannot rave enough about the food! It was agreed by every guest that it was the best wedding food they have ever had, if not the best food period. Thanks again Marry Ellen and the Deer Path for making our day perfect!

I would recommend the Deerpath Inn to anyone looking for a venue for their wedding. The staff was wonderful to us from the moment we set foot in the hotel and asked about wedding packages. They provided excellent service throughout the whole process. We had both our ceremony and reception at this location. We were married outside but they always had a back up plan in place in case the weather did not cooperate. They provided us with many ideas throughout the process and were very courteous to all of our guests. They posted signs throughout the area to help guide our guests. The food was absolutely fantastic too! I highly recommend this location!

I cannot express enough how amazing our wedding experience was with the Deer Path Inn. Mary Ellen was with me every step of the way, responding to questions promptly and professionally and helping me plan the big day. Jo Ann was the ultimate wedding day coordinator and made sure that everything ran extremely smoothly. The courtyard was the perfect, charming and beautiful place for our ceremony and the English Room was again, beautiful as well as cozy and the perfect size for our dinner and reception. People are still talking about how delicious the food was and the service was perfect. Seriously, everything was just perfect. I am so happy with every detail throughout the planning and the day of. I highly recommend this place for any type of event, especially weddings.

We had THE most perfect wedding at the Deer Path. Our entire family and all our friends stayed there and they all raved about what a wonderful time they had, how nice the hotel was, how excellent the food was and beautiful EVERYTHING was. They helped me plan every last detail and executed absolutely everything perfectly, from helping guests find their way around, to setting up the ceremony in the garden, to serving a delectable formal wedding dinner. We did not even need a wedding planner because they did it all for us!The staff at the Deer Path Inn was exceptional! We also had our post wedding day brunch there and our rehearsal dinner there. Both my husband and I look back on our wedding day with very fond memories and we know it was mostly because we had it at the Deer Path. The entire hotel is full of charm, history and coziness. I can't wait to come back someday!

The food was amazing. Everything was absolutely perfect and ran so smoothly. The service at the DPI can not be beat. The rooms looked beautiful as did the garden. Best place to have your wedding period!
