Dawn E. Roscoe photography is amazing! Dawn Roscoe is creative, patient and extremely talented. My husband and I had so much fun working with her on our engagement photos and our wedding photos. Having photos that are unique and artistic was very important to us and Dawn delivered. Thanks to Dawn and her wonderful partner photographer Torie, we now have our special moments captured in beautiful, stunning photographs to look at and cherish for a lifetime!

Dawn was hands down the best vendor we had the pleasure to work with. From the first meeting to the last, she was incredibly friendly, organized, professional and simply brilliant with everything she handled for us. I'm fairly awkward in front of the camera, but it was pretty clear after our engagement shoot that I was going to be fine - Dawn takes her photographs in the most natural, unobtrusive way, and its pretty easy to forget you even have a camera pointed at you. Dawn's promptness with correspondence was a big plus for me - I got an immediate and friendly response to every single email I sent her. And at the end of the day, the quality of the pictures just took our breath away. She did exactly as we had asked - capturing those fleeting moments we will now be able to remember forever.

We worked with Dawn for our wedding in September of 2011 and couldn't be happier. From the minute we met with Dawn, she was professional and went out of her way to understand the type of wedding we were having as well as our expectations and ideas for photography. We had a blast at our engagement session and received many compliments on the unique places/ideas the pictures showed. On our wedding day, Dawn and her assistant blended right into the day and helped with everything from organizing family for group photos to providing direction advice to the bus driver on our location shots to assure we had enough time to get in everything we wanted to. I can't speak highly enough to the photos she took. She captured every important moment from the day, including some incredible shots of details, of my husband and I, and of the real interactions between friends and family that were happening throughout the day that he and I weren't able to witness ourselves. Every photo that was taken was unique and different from anything I've seen and again, we've received a ton of compliments from friends and family on Dawn's work. One of Dawn's biggest strengths is her attitude and ability to make everyone involved in the wedding feel comfortable. I have to say, both my husband and I are not huge picture takers and usually feel we look "awkward" in most photos. Dawn made us feel incredibly comfortable and I think it shows in our photos, it's one of the first times we are both happy with how we look because we look like ourselves! I would highly recommend working with Dawn and I personally hope to work with her again or recommend her to my friends/family for their future needs. If I had to pick one difficulty from the entire process, I would say our only trouble now is deciding which of the gorgeous pictures of the day to print and make into our wedding album! :)

Dawn is amazing and super talented!!!! We got tons of compliments on our engagement picturesl and I cannot wait to see our wedding! She is super easy to work with, very punctual, responsive, makes you feel at ease with the camera, and many times you don't even notice her, yet she manages to capture the most magical shots. He second shooter was Kelly, and is the sweetest, always smiling and winking:) He work is magical, artistic, different, you would want to look through your memories over and over again! Feel at absolute ease when you hire Dawn as you photographer!

I had the privilege of working with Dawn and two assistants on my wedding day. I couldn't have been happier with the quality of photos and the experience I had with her team. Dawn did such a great job of capturing the excitement of the day. Furthermore, she caught every last detail on film, which was so important to me (I was in a cloud most of the day and missed so many of the details). I would enthusiastically recommend Dawn to all brides looking to tell a story about their wedding day and need to marry the art of photography with their mom's ideas of out-dated portraits. Hands-down - the best!

Dawn Roscoe was so amazing to work with! Her work is really incredible and you definitely get excellent quality pictures of your wedding day from her! We definitely had some specific requirements- like taking LOTS of family portrait combinations during cocktail hour and she complied and rocked it! Her planning and professionalism, I would say, is one of the highest in the industry. Her aesthetic and attention to detail is seriously incredible. I have so much respect for her as a photographer, and we became friends through the process!

I am completely floored with our wedding pictures and have not been able to stop looking at them for the two days since I got the proofs. When it came to looking for a photographer I searched high and low and interviewed several people. I was looking for someone with an editorial eye, who could do edgy, gritty shots, but also could do traditional photography. I found Dawn through various searches and knew instantly when I looked at her website that I wanted her for our wedding. In our first meeting I confirmed she was the one. Her work is amazing and she is so personable. We talked through the details about what was important to me, back up plan if it rained (which it did!) and details about the flow of the day. Dawn is super responsive to questions and concerns. My now husband is not too keen on photography and "staged" photos and Dawn was incredible with making it feel natural and fun so he didn't even question what was going on. I had a final meeting with her about a week before the wedding to finalize everything and sure enough, it all went exactly as planned. On the day of, Dawn and her awesome second shooter Kelly were extremely prompt and efficient. They made sure all bases were covered. They took amazing shots of the preparation with us, were never in the way and just seemed like part of the group and the day. Our limo driver had no clue where to go for location shots and Dawn was great at directing him to the locations for shooting. The day goes so fast you never know what to expect when you get a finished product, but all I can say is the photos brought tears to my eyes and made me relive the day all over again. Dawn has an impeccable eye, she's fantastic with editing and she captured every major and not so major moment perfectly. Yes, photographers do not come cheap, but her work is worth every single penny. I'm so looking forward to our after wedding shoot and seeing even more incredible pictures.

I am a lover of all things photographic. True story. When it came time to plan our wedding, I knew that this particular vendor was one that I would fret over. And fret I did. Until I met Dawn. Her easygoing manner and passion for portraying emotion on film made me like her instantly. After our first meeting, I was sure that her portfolio jived with the photographic vision I had for our wedding. (Some people are all sorts of concerned about centerpieces and the like? I couldn't care less about that. I had a photographic vision.) My request: uniquely urban photographs. I had seen one too many "dips" in the middle of LaSalle Street to want that for my collection. While that photograph can be undeniably beautiful, I tend to be a little...different...and I wanted our wedding photographs to reflect that. We chose Chinatown for the scene of our engagement photos. The architecture, the vibrant colors, and the urban feel lent for a beautiful backdrop for us to have photographs for wedding-related purposes. More than that, we became comfortable with Dawn. She shoots in a very natural way, minimal posing, and captures the raw emotions that just aren't there in overly staged and posed photographs. We loved our engagement photos instantly and knew we would be in for a treat for our wedding photographs. As the time before our wedding grew nearer, Dawn worked with me closely to set up locations for our photographs before the ceremony. Since we had limited time between the ceremony and the reception, we decided to have a first look photographed. Dawn really listened carefully to my expectations and wants for my photographs. She scouted out locations that I suggested and found even more that exceeded my expectations. Day of the wedding? She arrived on time. Her awesomely nice assistant Kelly arrived on time. She watched the clock closely so that we would make it to our destination in a timely fashion. She was professional, courteous and...let's face it, the important part: she (and Kelly!) took amazing photographs. She (and Kelly!) captured our emotions on our wedding day beautifully, and I couldn't be happier. I am thrilled with my wedding photos. Dawn is the best.

Dawn is an absolutely wonderful wedding photographer! We chose her for her artistic and photojournalistic style, as well as for her ability to capture the beauty of natural surroundings (we love the outdoors and wanted our pictures to reflect that). My husband and I are thrilled with every single picture and can’t believe how natural each picture looks. We don’t really consider ourselves photogenic people, but miraculously Dawn made us look it. We received so many compliments after sharing the pictures with family and friends. Some even went as far as to say our pictures were the best wedding photos they have ever seen! Dawn did a fabulous job shooting our wedding day! She really captured the moment in every picture. I loved that she just took the photos without us having to pose much, which made for more natural looking photos. No cheesy thumbs up pictures or awkward prom poses! We absolutely love every single photo from Dawn!

Dawn was great, we were fortunate to book her after our previous photographer bailed on us. Her photographs captured our day with a unique and modern perspective. She was very professional and very thoughtful - never intruding but able to get the shot. She got a great amount of photos at the reception, documenting our family and friends enjoying the day. She was flexible following us from salon to home to church to "party bus" to the hotel reception. Overall, she did a great job!

We got so lucky picking Dawn as our photographer! She was very professional, responsive, and flexible. During my wedding, her laid back attitude calmed me down before I walked down the aisle! And most importantly, I am SO happy with the results! The pictures look great, just the style I was looking for, and I was able to get the CD with the pictures which was key. Dawn was AMAZING. Both my husband and I are very shy, and we were worried about how awkward being the focus of the day, let alone being in front of a camera for most of the day. But Dawn made the experience so much fun. She put us both at ease, and we got such gorgeous pictures. We've been getting so many compliments, especially from the bridal party, who've never had so much fun taking pictures. Dawn was super easy to get along with, always good with answering any questions we had. As another review said, Dawn picked some ok looking spots which in turned looked spectacular in the photos. She truly has an eye for capturing the beauty in anything and everything. We definitely got our money's worth and more.

Dawn did a fantastic job photographing our wedding and reception. She was both patient and creative, which is a real plus for a middle aged couple in a second marriage situation. She has an eye for catching and capturing the moment and the spirit of the day. Her fee was reasonable and the selection of photographs was beyond our expectations. Over the years, we have been to many weddings and seen many wedding portfolios. None were as impressive as we received from her. We thank you for her help. She made a special day even better to remember.

After we contracted with Dawn to photograph our wedding, I'm sure she just cringed when she found out that her new client was a meeting & event planner. Type A, overly obsessed with the smallest of details, scheduled and demanding. How lucky for her! Without a moment's hesitation, I would wholeheartedly recommend Dawn to any soon to be bride & groom. She is responsive, dependable, talented, flexible and great fun on top of it all. She takes her business seriously and pays attention to all of the details you provide, so if you are able to articulate your needs & wants, she'll move mountains to get those shots for you. She's also a realist as well - if she thinks there's a chance you may not be able to get what you want or that something may not flow as smoothly as you want, she will manage your expectations. We were absolutely thrilled with our wedding photos and everyone raved about them. Dawn is a sure bet if you appreciate creative and interesting shots, especially if you prefer candids and an artistic eye!

Stop right there! This is the only review you need to read before booking a photographer in the Chicagoland area. Dawn Roscoe is probably the ideal photographer for any couple that is looking to really ENJOY their wedding day; present and future. She has a certain knack for truly understanding you as a couple; much more than you could ever convey in words. This knack extends to guests as well. Dawn loves what she does and it shows, and what she does is much more than 'take pictures'. She's artistic, amusing, charismatic, engaging, and intelligent. She is the catalyst that makes an ordinary wedding epic. Her vision and professionalism stood out among all others. She can 'read' a group and environment and conceptualize the best shots in the blink of an eye. All this without ever making anyone feel uneasy or left out, and certainly never against any impromptu goofing around. Guests commented on how friendly and fun she was and that it just seemed like she belonged there. I could go on and on about how easy it was to work with Dawn, her incredible responsiveness and inconceivable flexibility. For our wedding, she had an assistant that was marvelous as well (Steve Koo), and they made a great team. She is well respected and it is easy to see why. There is no doubt that hiring Dawn was money well spent. When it's all said and done, I would recommend checking Dawn's availability prior to even choosing a wedding date. That's how important she was to our wedding and we couldn't have been happier.

Dawn was fantastic! We found her by chance and, since we don't live in Chicago, just hoped everything would work out. I am so thrilled that we chose Dawn!!! Our photos are somewhere between artsy and traditional (not too much one way or the other)--which is what I told Dawn I was hoping to have. And you can really tell after looking at the photos what a great eye she has! There were some spots that she suggested for photos that I thought would be fine, but nothing exceptional, until I saw how great they looked in the photos! And--Dawn was actually one of the least expensive options we considered! She was definitely--by far--the best decision we made vendor-wise and she was absolutely the greatest value!!!

After looking at Dawn's online wedding portfolio I knew my search for a wedding photographer had finally ended. I was immediately drawn to her style of pictures...so unique and REAL! During my wedding day, it was so nice to not have to worry about all the pictures I wanted...who, where, etc. Dawn knew my "picture plan" before the wedding. She exceeded my expectations with her professional flair. What is most amazing about Dawn is how she captures a moment without you even knowing she was a part of it.
