Colin Lyons Photography

My wedding was 4 days ago and I don't even have my pictures back yet, but I can tell you hands-down that I would hire Colin Lyons again to shoot my wedding. Colin is awesome. He puts you at ease in a second, definitely knows what he is doing, has awesome suggestions for shoot locations and angles, and is so fun to work with. You can hardly even tell he's there, he's that good. He made our wedding day. He also made our engagement shoot awesome. He spent 8 hours with us on engagement shoot day and 12 hours with us on Wedding day. You definitey get your money's worth with him. He has a great eye for a beautiful shot and we can't wait to get our pictures back beause we know they will be amazing. His second photographer Matt - was PERFECT. So high energy, kept my groom from forgetting his head (and the rings!) and couldn't have been a more fun or nicer guy. I would recommend Colin a million times over and can't say enough good things! Colin is the most incredible photographer I have ever worked with. He goes way above and beyond what I've seen other photographers do and his demeanor is professional yet casual enough to not make you nervous or have the feel that there is always a photographer around. He produced some of the greatest pictures from our engagement shoot to the final pictures at the wedding. His turnaround time on the pictures is super fast. He is a pro at capturing the moment and his assistants are also great at what they do. I had asked Colin for some extra pictures of the city to assist with our wedding invitations and without hesitation, he took the pictures and had them back to me in 2 days. It's the little things like this that make him a wonderful photographer. His responsiveness is excellent and there was never a time when I had to wait for a response from him. I simply can not thank him enough for all he did to capture our day. He was so much fun to work with and I would recommend him to anyone I know (even clients... I'm in the biz).

We just got our wedding pictures back from Colin, and wow, it was like reliving the day!! Our pictures all turned out exquisite! Colin and his 2nd photographer Elena were extremely fun to be around all day and made the picture process easy. I don't think we could have been any happier with our photos. They are unbelievable and exactly how we want to remember the day. Colin even will send you a slideshow to music of a sample of your photos, a web-host site of your pics to order, as well as a disc with ALL of the shots he takes (which is alot!!). You must book Colin - he is the BEST!

Colin did a wonderful job at our wedding. We are both so happy with how the pictures turned out. The color in each photo is excellent and everyone who has seen our pictures have raved about them. We also really loved the photos from our engagement shoot.

I can't say enough nice things about Colin. Not only is he the greatest photographer ever, but he is such a nice person to work with and be around. I am extremely happy with how our pictures turned out, people that weren't even at our wedding said that after seeing the pictures they felt like they were there. He really captured the spirit and mood of that day.

I recently had the opportunity to have Colin Lyons as a photographer for my engagement shoot and wedding ceremony/reception. One word describes Colin - the BEST. Colin is the absolute best in all categories. I'll start with the obvious - his photography skills. Colin is a high-end photographer and his work shows it. Colin is creative, is a genius at capturing the emotions/feelings of feelings of the day, knows the perfect details to capture, and does the perfect editing to create photography that is absolutely breathtaking. My husband and I could not be happier with the work that Colin has done for us. We are so lucky to have found him. Secondly is Colin's professionalism. One thing I never realized until the day of my wedding is that you want a photographer who is unobtrusive, works well with your videographer and other vendors, but yet is still able to capture the beauty of the day. Colin excelled at this. I didn't even realize Colin and his assistant were around - but they were everywhere capturing just the right shots. Colin knows how to work with vendors to ensure he does not interfer with the video footage, and he knows how to allow you those special times with your guests without being 'in your face'. Colin lets you just do your thing and captures that in amazing photography. Cost - you know you get what you pay for, right? That being said, sure - Colin does cost slightly more than the big photography companies such as George Stree, Edward Fox, etc. We had spoken with those companies prior to choosing Colin. Was Colin more expensive - sure, but was it worth it? Hands down it was worth it. There are other photographers in the same league as Colin who are charging 3x, 4x, more than Colin's fees. Colin has an extremely fair price for the quality of the photographer that he is. He is a high-end photographer with fair prices. All of the above are reasons why I recommend Colin. He truely is the absolute best. On top of all of this, I want to speak about Colin as a person. I did not know Colin prior to choosing him for my wedding photographer. Through our meetings with him, then engagement shoot, and finally our wedding - I had the pleasure of getting to know Colin as an 'individual'. What an incredible, genuine, honest, thoughtful, and just all around nice guy. It was SO nice working with Colin. He made us feel comfortable, and it like we were hanging out with a friend. Not only that, Colin was the man of many trades at my wedding. He was the 'dj' in our limo rides, gave directions when the limo took a wrong turn, stood by me (the bride) when my wedding party got busy to ensure I was not left alone. He is an absolute gem. I HIGHLY recommend Colin as a photographer for your wedding or any special occasion. He truely is the absolute BEST in every category.

Not only is Colin an incredibly talented and versatile photographer, but he was an absolute joy to work with along with his assistant, Elena Bazini. Between the two of them, they made sure to cover all the key moments and really captured the spirit and emotions of our wedding day. He also met with us several times before the wedding, he was very quick to respond to all of our emails, and he even drove 30 miles out of his way to scope out the location in advance. Colin remembered specific requests I had throughout the evening and he really captured the details and with a unique and artistic use of props. Colin made everyone feel at ease and managed to get everyone to cooperate throughout the day. He sent our slideshow just a little over a week after the wedding and we've received nothing but rave reviews from our friends and family. We highly recommend Colin as your photographer for any and all occasions.

Colin by far has one of the best eyes for photography that I've seen. His creativity allows for pictures that aren't your "typical wedding shots" and his demeanor has you relaxed and lets your personalities shine through. The photos come out amazing!

We received so many compliments about our wedding photographs and it is all because of Colin and his amazing talent. We knew when we met him we did not have to search for another photographer. We knew we made the right choice in photographers and it was an easy decision after meeting him. We had such a positive experience working with him and Elena. He was very professional, responsive, easy to work with, and most of all you could tell that he loved being a photographer. The photographs were exactly the ones we wanted to have -- unique, artistic, fun! We loved how he scoped out wedding photography sites before hand and took charge on our wedding (as we requested) to ensure we would get amazing photographs. Having him as a photographer made our wedding day less stressful because I knew we would get great wedding photos. He truly captured every emotion and detail of our wedding. Our wedding photos were amazing-- we are having a tough time picking our favorites because we honestly love them all!! We loved that our wedding photos were unqiue to us and different from other weddings -- unlike other photographers who do the same poses/locations for all the weddings they are hired to do. You can tell he is dedicated to his profession and even stayed passed his contract time (without us asking) to ensure we received photos from all our special wedding moments!!! We could not have asked for better photos or service!! We would and have highly recommended his talents to our family and friends.

Colin was fantastic! I was so lucky to have found him. Our wedding was in the burbs in a location where Colin was not familiar with. Colin went out there before the wedding and scouted out a bunch of unique locations to shoot at. During the wedding I did not notice Colin at all, but he got all these amazing pictures! He had such a fun and great attitude taking the bridal party shots. I have been in weddings where the photographer is bossy and rude, and this was not Colin at all. During the reception, I also did not notice Colin or his assistant! I never felt like there was a camera in my face or like I had to keep posing. I just had a great time and there are a ton of awesome pictures to prove it. Thanks, Colin!

I'd like to join in singing Colin's praises. Amazing pictures, great to work with, etc. You can expect a professional, yet easy-going person who is VERY responsive. You won't ever have to deal with unreturned phone calls, etc. The key thing I'd like to add for future couples to know about Colin is this: I have pictures of moments from my wedding day that I would have sworn Colin wasn't even around to capture. He has a talent for blending in and capturing the moment without becoming part of it. So my memories are of my husband, family, and friends -- not of having a camera in my face. Such a great quality.
