Bridal HairStylist - Theodora Bourikas

I cannot say enough good things about Theodora! She was such an amazing hair stylist and wedding professional. She always responded to my emails or phone calls and even did two hair trails when I changed my mind about my hair style. She is a true professional and made me, my bridal party and family look absolutely beautiful for my wedding. I had a hard time finding a makeup artist for my big day and she recommended several artists for me to choose from. She goes above and beyond what any bride could ever expect and I would highly recommend her services to anyone who wants a great wedding hair stylist.

I found Theodora by chance and could not have gotten luckier. I was searching through the typical wedding stylist companies (e.g., Beauty on Call) and was very disappointed with the impersonal nature. I felt like going with them would make me look like "a typical bride." Fortunately, I found Theodora who truly understood the look I was hoping to achieve and delivered. At my trial, she styled my hair to 90% of what I was looking for and took notes to make sure the tweaks got me to 100% on my big day. Her attitude was always extremely understanding and she was truly a professional. She made sure that she understood the hair types of all my bridesmaids so that she could tailor looks that would work great for each one but still be complements to each other. She did 5 styles on my wedding day and each one looked like it could have been her first of the day. Everyone received equal attention and everyone loved how their hair turned out. Theodora is the best at what she does. You'll feel natural -- like a better version of yourself. And her technique makes for a style that stays -- through windy city photos, ceremony, and 4 hours of dancing!

If you are looking for a traveling hairstylist, Theodora is the best. She is friendly, happy and loves what she does. If you plan to wear your hair up, she does an amazing job. If you want to wear it down, she styles it in a way I could never do myself. Well worth the money. Most of all, she is very trustworthy. She will show up on your day (I've heard stories of no shows and/or hairstylist at salons double booked), ready and remembers everything about the trial. Highly recommended!

She was amazing. It was fantastic that she was able to Travel to my hotel at 6 am to begin her services. She also found an additional stylist at the last minute because more people wAnted to get their hair done and we were on a tight schedule.

I'm pretty particular about hair, so I was nervous who I would work with for my wedding, but I absolutely loved my hairstyle. Theodora was a pleasure to work with! I definitely would recommend her to all of my friends.

Theodora is wonderful!! I had my wedding party and my hair done for my wedding! She was so wonderful on the day and so helpful, it was like having a good friend come and do our hair! I wish I invited her to me wedding! I also had a haircut by Theodora for my dress rehearsal and I absolutely loved both! I now am going to see her regularly for haircuts! She is affordable and you get more than you pay for!!

I hired Theodora after I'd had a bad trial experience with another hair dresser. My trial with Theodora went very well, and she was very easy to work with. She did my hair for my wedding and she did my three bridesmaids as well. She was very flexible when I changed styles from what we'd done at my trial, and my hair looked perfect all night. She even provided us with a small can of hairspray to keep things in place! She came out to our venue, which was quite a ways from her home. Overall Theodora was great to work with and I would recommend her to anyone!

First off, I'm selfishly reluctant to write this review, because I adore Theodora so much that I'm scared that once everyone discovers this hidden gem, it'll take forever to book her for myself! LOL. However, luckily for me (and you all), she was recommended to me, and I feel it's only right to pay it forward...... Theodora has now served as my hairstylist for BOTH routine hair care (i.e. highlights, haircut) and bridal hairstyling for my big day. Routine Hair Care: Theodora always uses Redken bleach (for those curious gurus out there) for coloring, including for my full head of blonde highlights. She also does my layered haircuts. I can't tell you how many compliments I've gotten (including from random strangers on Michigan Avenue) ever since she's been doing my hair. The icing on the cake? It all was $95 and took two hours. UNBELIEVABLE. She does charge an extra $5-$10 for a blowdry depending on the type of hair you have. She also does a deep conditioning treatment (DIVINE!) for about $5. All her prices are extremely reasonable. Bridal Hairstyling: She offered a very affordable trial ($50) and was extremely flexible about meeting times. On the day of the wedding, Theodora showed up 15 minutes early. Yes, she travels to you! I cannot tell you how invaluable this service is on a hectic wedding day. She did blow-outs for both Moms and low chignons for the 4 bridesmaids. She also did a half up-do with curls for myself. It took her about 4 hours total to do all 7 of our heads. The hairstyles lasted all day and night and even through the following day for myself. The icing on the cake? It was all $450 total. Theodora is an extremely great listener and fully "gets" your ideas. Her real talent is taking the idea a notch further making your hair look THAT MUCH BETTER. Invaluable, I'm telling you. Everything about Theodora's hairstyling services is perfect. I can't recommend her enough! You won't be disappointed!

Theodora is a gifted hair stylist! She did my hair as well as my bridal party's hair for my wedding 2 years ago and my hair held well ALL night long. She's also done updo's for special events I've attended since then and does an amazing job each time. She did my hair for a wedding I attended earlier this year as a guest and was told a few times that my hair looked better than the bride's! Theodora is also very accomodating schedule-wise since I tend to make appointments on such short notice. She's also VERY reasonably priced. Before her, I would get my hair done at salons and pay a lot more, but got a lot less. Theodora is absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend her for your hair needs!

Theo is a great hair stylist who comes to you! She offered me 2 extremely affordable trials and was very flexible when I changed my mind on the type of style. She showed up early the day of the wedding and was very professional. She completed 6 hair styles in 4 hours and did a really great job! My hair turned out EXACTLY as I had wanted and lasted the entire night of the wedding! It was such a relief that she came to where the bridesmaids and I were getting ready and she worked well with the make-up artist, photographer, and wedding coordinator. She's a huge asset to your wedding, and I highly recommend her services!

I was so relieved to find a great traveling hair stylist! Theodora is very patient and does great work. She does trials in her home studio and then will travel anywhere you need her to be. She works quickly and discusses how to "prepare your hair" for the up-do you would like before the wedding...so your hair cooperates! I wanted a more fuller look...so she used natural hair extensions to create it for me!

Theodora was great! I live in Northern CA but had my engagement party in Chicago. I found her online and sent her an email. She got back to me right away and was able to answer all my questions and give me pricing info. I didn't get to do a trial with her, so I was a little nervous, but I'm glad I chose her. I sent her my deposit by mail and on the day of the event she came to my hotel and was on time and ready to go. I had scheduled appointments for myself and my mom, but on the day of my sister also decided she wanted to get her hair done. Theodora was extremely accommodating and managed to get do all three of us done in a timely manner. Everyone's hair turned out great and her prices were totally affordable! She is super sweet and fun to talk to and I would highly recommend her.

Theodora was great! She came to my church the day of my wedding to do my hair and my MOH's hair onsite. She did a trial run at her home, conveniently located just off I-94 in Glenview, about two months before my big day. I changed my mind closer to the wedding, and she had me back for a quick trim and temp color w/ vitamins to help tame my flyaways. She was able to create the look I wanted on my big day, so I could look stunning for my now husband! I loved my MOH's hair, too! She looked lovely at my side.

I really loved Theodora and all my bridesmaids loved her as well. She did my hair and the girls' hairs. As long as you know your time frame (start, end time) she is able to do exactly what you need. She is spunky and my girls loved talking to her while getting their hair done. I actually wanted something a little bit different from what I had in my trial and she was able to do it and it came out just lovely. I also chose her because I wanted someone who would be able to travel to me at the hotel.
